Connect from Home- Yoga & Community during COVID
A four week livestream series designed to meet the new, ever changing needs we all have in the face of the COVID 19 quarantine. Working from home? Let’s release the accumulated tension in the back, shoulders, and neck. Holding tension and anxiety, fear of uncertainty? Drop deep into some flow practices designed to support body & mind. Missing human connection during extended periods of isolation? Let’s all meet together digitally for some connection, support, and wellness through movement! I am here to be your guide but….. Let the 1000+ year old practice do the work. I hope to see you all on the mat! (And the screen!)
Week 1: Finding Stability
During these turbulent times, we will enjoy a nice flow to help us feel grounded, strong and find security when so much is out of our control. Enjoy many seated grounding postures and a nice flow practice emphasizing leg stability and lots of twists.
Week 2: Tuning into personal power
What can I do during quarantine and isolation? A flow class based on the element of Fire, and the solar plexus chakra. The focus of the class is strengthening the core and building inner fire and confidence within ourselves.
Week 3: Grateful Heart
What can we be grateful for during this trying time? This sequence of backbends is designed to open your heart, while reversing the effects of sitting for long periods. These poses will also help encourage heart-centered emotions of love, joy, compassion and gratitude.
Week 4: Finding Balance
Integrating our practice, and settling into the unknown. Beginning with a standing balancing sequence, we energetically connect with our ability to adapt to the ever-changing present moment. Settling into a restorative ending, we dive into some yin hip-opening sequences, loosening muscle and facial tension from emotional stress, balancing your prana and lengthen the back, and stretch hips where emotional stress is stored. A practice to help you cope with your grief and be able to sit in stillness even with the extreme sadness of grief, and integrate the experience of the series/ remind you of your ability to move forward.
