About Cat Matlock
I’m Cat Matlock of FreeBody Therapeutics and I’ve been a trigger point massage therapist for 28 years. I have worked with thousands of people. And over those years shoulder problems are among the top reasons people come to see us at my clinic.
Are you in Pain?
People come in and they can’t lift their arm out to the side without terrible pain. They clutch their shoulders and, often with tears, tell me about how they can’t sleep at night because the pain wakes them. And they’re tired. Or they have a terrible radiating pain, or tingling, that starts in the shoulder and runs down the back of the arm and into the outer hand, maybe even the pinky. Or they have a terrible radiating pain, or tingling, that starts in the front of the shoulder and runs down the biceps into the hand, maybe even the thumb and first two fingers. And it wakes them up at night. And they’re tired.
They just want to brush their hair, or hook their bra, or lift their child or grandchild, or open a dang jar without pain. And they don’t want surgery. But they don’t know what to do and their physical therapy or other therapies helped some (or not at all) but didn’t take them all the way to being out of pain and fully functional again.

What to Expect:
When we’re done, you’ll breathe more fully, feel less pain, move more freely, and be empowered with skills and tools to continue your journey of healing in the right direction.
First, you’re going to learn where these issues actually begin and where the tension (trigger points) actually live that are causing your pain (because it’s not where you think it is!)
Then you’ll learn the steps to release the tension in the muscles and connective tissues, using balls, targeted lengthening and strengthening, and breathing practices to open the body from the inside.
You will have access to the recorded class for 3 days. You will also receive an eBook helping you to understand shoulder pain and dysfunction, the muscles involved, the postures that might have gotten you here, and pain referral pattern maps so you can finally understand where your pain is actually coming from. - two tennis balls in a sock or yoga tune up balls in tote
- yoga block (or large book)
