Live Your Life with Yoga Ethics- Part 1 “Yamas” with Allison Jordan

March 9 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
$25 – $45

Saturday, March 9,2024

4:00-6:00pm

Yoga is a transformational tool for many people. Often, they are introduced to yoga through asana, the physical aspect. Yoga is so much more. The first two limbs of yoga, the Yamas and Niyamas, are guidelines to support us in relating to ourselves and others. They are yogic codes of conduct.

Join Allison Jordan, Leadership Coach and Yoga Guide, to explore taking your yoga off your mat and into the world with this 2 part workshop that includes asana, meditation, discussion, and journaling. You will leave with your own ideas of how you can incorporate each yama and niyama into your life. It is open to all.

Sliding scale: $25, $35, $45

About the Instructor

Allison Jordan

Allison (she/her) believes everyone is a leader. Regardless of our titles, we are all leading our own lives. The eight limbs of yoga are a way to connect deeply with your inner knowing, your inner guide, your inner leader. Allison is always on a learning journey and a student first. She has been practicing yoga since 1998 and guiding others since 2016. In 2015, Allison practiced yoga every day which opened up her path to teacher training. After recognizing that asana made her a better, gentler, kinder yet stronger person both mentally and physically but particularly mentally, she achieved her 200 RYT with Yoga Alliance and a second YTT in 2021 that was centered in social justice and equity. She sees herself not as a teacher but as a guide encouraging you to listen to your body as your first teacher. She recognizes that yoga is more than asana and works to bring the 8 limbs of yoga into her class and her life. Allison encourages students to be where they need to be on that day and believes strongly that it is “your body, your mat, your practice”. Outside of the yoga studio, you can find Allison in the woods leading yoga backpacking retreats, reading books by the fire or coaching and supporting leaders.
