Funked Up Shoulders

November 6, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
$8 – $15

Got shoulder and neck pain? Tired upper body from feeding your baby?  Aching shoulders from excess computer time and working from home?

Funked Up Shoulders is for you!

I designed this workshop 6 months postpartum and I am ready to share it with you!  Tension tends to reside on our neck and shoulders, especially if your posture is slightly off, or you have been carrying a little one around, or staring at your phone and computer for *a little* too long.  This workshop is designed to give you the tools to release tension and reduce pain.

What the class entails:

  • Functional movement for the shoulders.  We will look at biceps, triceps, the scapula and more!
  • Strengthening for the shoulders.  In order to gain length and ease in the shoulders, we need to strengthen first.
  • Release!  Last but not least, we will use yoga therapy balls and breath work to leave you feeling relaxed!

Props you will need:

  • yoga mat
  • yoga blocks (or books)
  • one air filled ball
  • one small ball (or tennis ball)

**Do not let the tools discourage you!**  We are letting students borrow props.  If you do not have them, we can help.  Reach out and we will help find a way for you to get the tools you need!**

About the Instructor

Sue Ann has dedicated herself to yoga since 2012. Her passion is to help students feel stronger in their bodies and more connected to their hearts.  Sue Ann’s classes mix  functional movement, philosophy and body | heart | mind alignment. With a deep understanding of movement, she is able to guide students more fully into their own bodies. Sue Ann is deeply grateful for her time studying and practicing at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. She is the owner and lead instructor at West Asheville Yoga in North Carolina.  Sue Ann holds an 800 hour Vijnana Yoga Certificate, and a 500 hour Yoga Alliance certificate where she focused primarily on prenatal yoga.   Sue Ann’s prenatal yoga teaching journey began at West Asheville Yoga Studio.  She witnessed the beauty and connection that Cat Matlock and Roxy Robbins, two senior Prenatal Yoga Teachers, brought to the community. Under their guidance, teaching private and group prenatal classes quickly became a passion.  Throughout her own pregnancy, yoga and the yoga community were essential for Sue Ann.  Prenatal Yoga strengthened her connection with her own body, her baby and her community.  She feels honored to share these teachings and contribute  to other womens’ transformational experiences.
