Slip into sweet sacred space for a cozy evening of deep rest, listening, reflection, and being.
The wisdom of winter invites us to settle into the generative season of deep rest and renewal, the generative womb of winter, to tend to the dreamscapes and birthing grounds of the gardens of our inner and outer life.
As nature retreats inward to rest, restore, and replenish so too, our inner nature beckons us inward to replenish our inner stores, tend the the reflective nature of soma and soul, and create space for life to begin to unfurl into the arc of the high summer sun come spring.
In the ancient wisdom traditions of yoga, this subtle pause, this touching down into the depths of stillness is akin to the space between the exhale & the inhale – the soft pause, the space between release and receptivity, the spacious sound of stillness that opens us to the effortless and ever present solitude of our being.
Rather than resist the discomfort of the depth of darkness, nature, in her winter cloak, reminds us of the sanctuary of silence and stillness.
Quiet is presence, not as an absence of sound, but the absence of noise. Quiet is the think tank of the soul. Quiet is not a luxury, it is essential – Gordon Hempton
It is here, touching into the darkest night of year and the depths of our inner being, that we begin to welcome the arc of light and emerge from that which is essential.
Our time together will weave a ritual of rest woven with
– natured based wisdom and seasonal insights and symbolism
– slow gentle movement and longer held restorative postures with lots of yummy props to support the restful rhythms of inner wintering in our biology, breath, body, and being
– yoga nidra and soothing soundscapes with crystal bowls and whimsical chimes
– reiki for deeply rooted and radiant rest
– nourishing, seasonally inspired tea
– personal introspection and reflection
This class is open to all bodies, all beings, and all levels of ability and experience with yoga. We will spend our time on and close to the ground.
Please wear warm, cozy attire that you can move and stretch and rest comfortably and freely in – we encourage bringing socks, sweaters, blankets, and anything that feels like a warm hug are welcome, along with any personal ritual items and/or a journal to capture personal reflections.
