Feeling a little stuck somewhere in your shoulders, neck, hips, or back? Ready to learn how to release that for good, and restore (or keep!) pain-free movement?
Join Cat Matlock on this 5 week exploration of these vulnerable places in the body. Using therapeutic rolling (balls will be provided and available for purchase) and simple yoga poses, students will learn:
- why these are target areas for pain and dysfunction
- where trigger points tend to form, what their pain feels like, and how to release them
- the interplay of fascia and muscles
- why old injuries come back and how to stop that from happening
- simple strengthening and stabilizing practices
- how to use foam rolling and yoga together to reduce pain and inflammation and increase mobility
- how to age well!
Cat Matlock has been practicing trigger point therapy for over 30 years and is Asheville’s original foam rolling and yoga instructor. She runs 2 YouTube channels, one for self care at YouTube.com/@catmatlock and one for massage therapists at YouTube.com/@freebodymassage.
In her classes, Cat weaves together anatomy, trigger point location and release, yoga, and self regulation/meditation practices. Cat has just published her first book FreeBody: The Body, Pain, and a Path to Freedom which lays out the science of how we get stuck in pain and how to fix it. This is her only live series being offered this year. Don’t miss it!
