[INDOOR] Art of Being: Archetypal Connection– Four Week Series with Maeve Hendrix

September 18, 2022 from 5:15 pm to October 9, 2022 from 6:45 pm

Sundays September 18th-October 9th, 5:15-6:45pm

Explore many facets of your inner being during this four week, in-person journey through the archetypes.

Archetypes are powerful symbolic energies that bring us into deeper relationship with our inner world and allow us to feel how our personal experiences are directly connected with symbolic universal experience.  Using Kim Krans’ archetype oracle deck and guide book, we will connect with a different set of archetypes each week.  You will pick one card from the set for that week and Maeve will guide you through different ways of interacting with the energy of the card.

Each week’s class will be a multi-modal experience that includes: accessible yoga, guided breathwork, meditation/visualization, and creativity explorations.

This series has roots in yoga, expressive arts therapy and jungian psychology and thus, will open up windows into your subconscious and unconscious realms to explore, connect with, and integrate as new supportive/ and insightful connections in your life.

Maeve offers all of her instruction and guidance by invitation, you are always welcome to modify or opt out of any part of the process we move through and are encouraged to trust your intuition, listening to what feels most therapeutic for you.

Sliding Scale $110-$130

Yoga props and art supplies are provided, please bring a journal.

About the Instructor

Maeve has been leading yoga and expressive arts groups since 2011 and is Licensed Professional Counselor with a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. She has a private counseling practice in Asheville, NC and offers weekly yoga classes to the Asheville and Black Mountain Community.

In her counseling practice, she offers a warm, compassionate presence to hold space for sharing and therapeutic processing. Rooted in Attachment Theory, she offers a Body-Centered Mindfulness-Based Approach inspired by EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

She also employs Expressive Arts Therapy, which may include writing, visual arts, movement, music and other forms of expression. Expressive Arts Therapy is based on the principle that creative expression fosters healing and personal growth. Through these methods, she works closely with the client to explore mindfulness based practices that feel authentic fand can be integrated into daily life.

Maeve specializes in working with individuals who are experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and navigating relationships.  Mindfulness-Based and Expressive Arts Therapy are unique, effective modalities in how they offer an opportunity to approach emotional pain, stuckness, and destructive habitual patterns from new perspectives, by activating new neural networks in the brain and discovering the intrinsic intelligence of the body.

Holding a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University, Maeve is certified as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
