SUMMARY:Kirtan with Mantra Mandala (Donation based)
DESCRIPTION:Sing your way to joy and peace! \nKirtan is a sweet meditative practice of chanting mantras and divine names. Join your voice with the group as we together experience the healing power of bhakti yoga\, the yoga of love and devotion. \nNo experience is necessary. Kirtan is perfect for first-timers because of its call-and-response format: the leader sings a simple phrase\, then the group responds by singing the same phrase back. \nMantra Mandala is a kirtan band based in Asheville\, North Carolina. The band was formed in 2023 by a group of friends drawn together by a love of sacred chanting\, yoga\, and community building. \nMantra Mandala features Jeremy Staum (vocals\, harmonium)\, Eli McNamara (vocals\, guitar\, percussion)\, Shikha Johnson (vocals\, percussion) and Timothy Burgin (percussion). The band draws inspiration from the rich lineage of kirtan and bhakti yoga\, infusing traditional chants with modern harmonies and arrangements\, covering hits of Western kirtan\, and writing original mantra music. Together they weave melody\, rhythm\, and harmony to create an immersive sound that invites listeners into a journey of meditative bliss and devotion. \nThe band’s name\, Mantra Mandala\, represents the intention behind their music. Mantra and mandala are both meditation tools. Mantra is the repetition of sacred sounds. Mandala is a geometric design that represents the wholeness of the Self. The band’s music is like a mandala formed of mantras\, transporting listeners into the state of connectedness that is yoga. \n  \nPre-registration is appreciated (but not required) to make our check in process smoother \n\nDonation based $0-$20 \nThis event occurs monthly.

SUMMARY:Full Moon Circle with Sierra Hollister: Yoga + Ritual (in person or virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday\, Sept 29th 7-9pm \nJoin Sierra for a full moon yoga class that will take you on a journey. Whether you prefer to attend in-person or virtually\, this class promises to be an illuminating experience. \nJust as the moon influences the tides\, its waxing and waning hold the key to rhythm and empowerment in our lives. By surrendering to the moon’s energy and harmonizing our movements and consciousness\, we tap into the innate wisdom within us\, residing in our bones and soul. \nThis profound wisdom can be likened to a permaculture system\, as Ayurveda refers to it as cellular memory. While our cells are constantly renewing\, there exists a genetic thread of DNA that carries our lineage and ancestral stories. They continue to live on within us\, along with the memories of a time when we were deeply connected to the natural cycles of seasons\, moons\, and sun. Rediscovering our inner source allows us to awaken from the illusion that keeps us feeling disconnected. \nIn acknowledgement of the power of these cycles and the moon’s consistent invitation to return to our essence\, Sierra offers the opportunity to gather during each Dark Moon and Full Moon. Each gathering includes the ritual of creating an altar\, as well as yoga\, breathwork\, meditation\, and gong practices. These inclusive gatherings are open to all individuals\, regardless of gender identification\, who are seeking to rediscover their path. \nThe cost for attending moon classes is on a sliding scale\, $25-$35

SUMMARY:Sunset Yoga in Montford Park
DESCRIPTION:Harmonize body\, mind\, and soul while bidding farewell to the sun’s gentle rays. Whether you seek to deepen your yoga practice\, embrace the beauty of nature\, or simply unwind after a long day\, Sunset Yoga in the Park at Montford Park promises to be a magical journey of inner healing and connection with the elements. \nWe gather to align our breath with the rhythm of our hearts\, fostering harmony within ourselves and the world around us. \nIn this sacred practice\, we honor the Earth as our foundation\, grounding ourselves deep in its nurturing embrace. With each breath\, we draw upon the vitality of the earth\, finding stability and balance within our bodies and minds. As we move through the gentle flow of yoga postures\, we tap into the energy of the earth\, strengthening our roots and awakening a sense of belonging. \nThe air\, wild and untamed\, whispers through the trees and caresses our skin. It fills us with a sense of liberation and boundless potential. Guided by our breath\, we embrace the freedom to explore new possibilities and release anything that no longer serves us. With each inhale\, we invite in fresh inspiration and revitalization\, while exhaling\, we let go of any stagnant energy\, creating space for growth and transformation. \nWater\, the essence of life\, nourishes our souls and teaches us the art of surrender. Just as a river flows effortlessly\, we learn to flow with grace and ease\, surrendering to the natural currents of life. Through fluid movements and mindful transitions\, we immerse ourselves in the wisdom of water\, finding balance between effort and surrender. \nThe fire within us ignites\, fueled by our passion and desire for transformation. We stoke this inner flame\, awakening our spirits to their fullest potential. With each breath\, we cultivate vitality\, courage\, and a deep sense of purpose. The fire guides us to embrace our authentic selves and to shine our light brightly upon the world. \nUnited under the sun’s warm embrace\, we come together as a community\, bound by our shared journey of self-discovery and connection. In this sacred space\, we honor the interconnectedness of all beings and our collective responsibility to nurture and protect the planet we call home. \n  \nSliding Scale: $14\, $18\, $22
