SUMMARY:Kirtan with Mantra Mandala (Donation based)
DESCRIPTION:Sing your way to joy and peace! \nKirtan is a sweet meditative practice of chanting mantras and divine names. Join your voice with the group as we together experience the healing power of bhakti yoga\, the yoga of love and devotion. \nNo experience is necessary. Kirtan is perfect for first-timers because of its call-and-response format: the leader sings a simple phrase\, then the group responds by singing the same phrase back. \nMantra Mandala is a kirtan band based in Asheville\, North Carolina. The band was formed in 2023 by a group of friends drawn together by a love of sacred chanting\, yoga\, and community building. \nMantra Mandala features Jeremy Staum (vocals\, harmonium)\, Eli McNamara (vocals\, guitar\, percussion)\, Shikha Johnson (vocals\, percussion) and Timothy Burgin (percussion). The band draws inspiration from the rich lineage of kirtan and bhakti yoga\, infusing traditional chants with modern harmonies and arrangements\, covering hits of Western kirtan\, and writing original mantra music. Together they weave melody\, rhythm\, and harmony to create an immersive sound that invites listeners into a journey of meditative bliss and devotion. \nThe band’s name\, Mantra Mandala\, represents the intention behind their music. Mantra and mandala are both meditation tools. Mantra is the repetition of sacred sounds. Mandala is a geometric design that represents the wholeness of the Self. The band’s music is like a mandala formed of mantras\, transporting listeners into the state of connectedness that is yoga. \nPre-registration is appreciated (but not required) to make our check in process smoother \n\nDonation based $0-$20 \nThis event occurs monthly.

SUMMARY:Ganesha Yoga Nidra for Winter Solstice with Cat Matlock (In Person + Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Join Cat for her annual Ganesha Yoga Nidra for Winter Solstice!\n\nWhat is holding you back? What are you bringing to the Light?\nWintertime is the perfect time to go deeply inside\, root out what no longer serves you\, and plant the seeds for your new vision.\nOur experience begins with creating a communal altar together. Bring your favorite crystal\, picture\, or something that is dear to you\, that inspires you.\n\nWe will gather around the altar and you’ll take a few moments to write out what you are burning away and what you are calling in. These notes will be placed on the altar during our Nidra and Cat will later burn them in her Solstice fire.\nCat will guide you into deep relaxation\, a powerful space for manifesting what you truly desire. Cat will teach you an effective way to visualize your dream into being. What are you saying “I AM” to? What needs to shift for your happiness\, your joy\, your fulfillment?\n\nGanesha is the one who stands at the threshold of every new level of consciousness. With the help of Ganesha\, we humbly ask for the next door to open.\n\nCome. Let’s bloom together.\n\nThis event is offered both in person and virtually via Zoom.

SUMMARY:Winter Solstice: Inner Sanctuary
DESCRIPTION:Slip into sweet sacred space for a cozy evening of deep rest\, listening\, reflection\, and being. \nThe wisdom of winter invites us to settle into the generative season of deep rest and renewal\, the generative womb of winter\, to tend to the dreamscapes and birthing grounds of the gardens of our inner and outer life. \nAs nature retreats inward to rest\, restore\, and replenish so too\, our inner nature beckons us inward to replenish our inner stores\, tend the the reflective nature of soma and soul\, and create space for life to begin to unfurl into the arc of the high summer sun come spring. \nIn the ancient wisdom traditions of yoga\, this subtle pause\, this touching down into the depths of stillness is akin to the space between the exhale & the inhale – the soft pause\, the space between release and receptivity\, the spacious sound of stillness that opens us to the effortless and ever present solitude of our being.\n\nRather than resist the discomfort of the depth of darkness\, nature\, in her winter cloak\, reminds us of the sanctuary of silence and stillness.\n \nQuiet is presence\, not as an absence of sound\, but the absence of noise. Quiet is the think tank of the soul. Quiet is not a luxury\, it is essential – Gordon Hempton \nIt is here\, touching into the darkest night of year and the depths of our inner being\, that we begin to welcome the arc of light and emerge from that which is essential. \nOur time together will weave a ritual of rest woven with \n– natured based wisdom and seasonal insights and symbolism \n– slow gentle movement and longer held restorative postures with lots of yummy props to support the restful rhythms of inner wintering in our biology\, breath\, body\, and being \n– yoga nidra and soothing soundscapes with crystal bowls and whimsical chimes \n– reiki for deeply rooted and radiant rest \n– nourishing\, seasonally inspired tea\n \n– personal introspection and reflection \nThis class is open to all bodies\, all beings\, and all levels of ability and experience with yoga. We will spend our time on and close to the ground. \nPlease wear warm\, cozy attire that you can move and stretch and rest comfortably and freely in – we encourage bringing socks\, sweaters\, blankets\, and anything that feels like a warm hug are welcome\, along with any personal ritual items and/or a journal to capture personal reflections.  \n\nBIOS:\n \nGillian Hailey is a WAY Yoga Instructor & Therapeutic Somatic Practitioner & Embodiment Coach at Bloom Embodied Wellbeing based locally in Asheville\, NC.

DESCRIPTION:Harmonize body\, mind\, and soul while bidding farewell to the sun’s gentle rays. Whether you seek to deepen your yoga practice\, embrace the beauty of nature\, or simply unwind after a long day\, Sunset Yoga in the Park at Montford Park promises to be a magical journey of inner healing and connection with the elements. \nWe gather to align our breath with the rhythm of our hearts\, fostering harmony within ourselves and the world around us. \nIn this sacred practice\, we honor the Earth as our foundation\, grounding ourselves deep in its nurturing embrace. With each breath\, we draw upon the vitality of the earth\, finding stability and balance within our bodies and minds. As we move through the gentle flow of yoga postures\, we tap into the energy of the earth\, strengthening our roots and awakening a sense of belonging. \nThe air\, wild and untamed\, whispers through the trees and caresses our skin. It fills us with a sense of liberation and boundless potential. Guided by our breath\, we embrace the freedom to explore new possibilities and release anything that no longer serves us. With each inhale\, we invite in fresh inspiration and revitalization\, while exhaling\, we let go of any stagnant energy\, creating space for growth and transformation. \nWater\, the essence of life\, nourishes our souls and teaches us the art of surrender. Just as a river flows effortlessly\, we learn to flow with grace and ease\, surrendering to the natural currents of life. We stoke this inner flame\, awakening our spirits to their fullest potential. With each breath\, we cultivate vitality\, courage\, and a deep sense of purpose. The fire guides us to embrace our authentic selves and to shine our light brightly upon the world. \nUnited under the sun’s warm embrace\, we come together as a community\, bound by our shared journey of self-discovery and connection. In this sacred space\, we honor the interconnectedness of all beings and our collective responsibility to nurture and protect the planet we call home. \n  \nSliding Scale: $14\, $18\, $22

Through this event\, we seek to extend a helping hand to those in need during times of crisis. \n\nHow to Get Involved: \n\nAttend the Event: Join us at West Asheville Yoga on October 27th for an evening of togetherness and reflection.\nDonate: Contributions made during the event will go directly to both IsrAID and the Middle East Children’s Collective. To donate without attending\, please register as “virtual”.\nSpread the Word: Share the event with your friends and family\, encouraging more people to participate in this act of compassion and solidarity.\n\nLet’s come together as a community to support those in need and send a message of compassion and humanity. Together\, we can help to heal wounds and bring hope to those who have endured so much.
